In order to better prepare school counseling students to manage a classroom during classroom guidance lessons it is import to understand what school counselors are experiencing. This session discusses research on novice school counselors’ experiences with classroom management, and ways in which counselor educators can prepare their students for managing a classroom. Participants will leave the session with practical activities they can utilize in their school counseling programs to better prepare their students for the rigors of culturally responsive classroom management.
