This presentation seeks to explore ways in which master’s level counseling programs can help promote the continued growth and development of the counseling profession through the facilitation of leadership competency among master’s level counselors-in-training (CITs). We will discuss faculty-led initiatives, but will focus primarily on peer-based interventions that help to create an expectation of student leadership and encourage CIT participation in leadership tasks/roles.
